New Confucius Institute to Open August 17, 2009

Kennesaw State University will open a new Chinese government-funded center to promote the country's language and culture. The new center will partner with Yangzhou University, a 35,000-student school in China's Jiangsu province. The center is the second in Georgia, and among 55 Confucius institutes in the U.S.

GE Power Signs $115 Million Deal in China

GE Power, based in Atlanta, signed a nine year, $115 million deal with Fujian Jinjiang Gas Power Co. Ltd. to provide service to four gas turbines at Fujian's power plant in southeast China.

Georgia Economic Development Commissioner Plans August Trip to China

During a two week trip to China, Georgia Department of Economic Development Commissioner Ken Stewart will visit Beijing, Tianjin, Shanghai, Suzhou and Hong Kong from August 16 through August 27, 2009. Mark Lytle, the state's international investment director, and Lindsay Liu, director of Georgia's economic office in Beijing will join Mr. Stewart during his trip.

More than 100 Chinese Companies Coming Through Atlanta

China denies Coke's bid for Huiyuan Juice
